First Westland Driver in Formula 4

Seventeen year old racing driver Rosanne den Drijver from the Westland region is taking another major step in her motorsport career. The Captain Cruise driver will move up from karting to Formula 4 in April, becoming the first driver from Westland ever to compete in the category.
“This step is extremely important to me because it gives me the opportunity to gain valuable mileage, both in testing and in Nordic4 races. To have a chance of securing a seat in the F1 Academy, I need to be scouted and prove that I belong among the best. With partners such as Biersteker, Rainbow Growers and ProTech Westland, I can create more opportunities and I feel incredibly supported in my journey towards the F1 Academy,” Rosanne says enthusiastically.
In 2026, Rosanne den Drijver will compete in the international Nordic4 Championship, taking part in seven race weekends across Denmark, Sweden and Norway. The championship consists of eight rounds, but Rosanne will miss one because she is also sitting her HAVO final exams this year.
“This feels like a very special next step, especially when you consider that I started racing rental karts at Van der Ende Racing in Poeldijk when I was just 11 years old. When you truly want something and work hard for it, you can go a long way. I hope other girls will look at what I am doing and feel inspired to pursue their own dreams.”
Preparations for the opening race at Padborg Park in Denmark on 25 and 26 April are well underway.
“I am training extensively on my own simulator so that I know the circuit inside out. On 14 and 15 April, I will travel to Denmark for two days of testing at the track. I am really looking forward to making my Formula 4 debut together with STEP Motorsport.”
