Rosanne den Drijver finished fifth in the Ladies Cup in Le Mans on Sunday, during the world karting championship for female drivers. The 15 year old from Naaldwijk would gladly have accepted that result beforehand. “This was my biggest event so far.”
At the famous French motorsport circuit, Rosanne qualified eighth for the final. “The start was not ideal. I had to take evasive action immediately because of a crash, which cost me several positions.”
The Westland driver then produced an impressive recovery drive. “A podium finish was never within reach, but I am so happy with this result. I had never raced at Le Mans before, while the girls around me have been competing in the X30 class for years. I could never have dreamed of this.”
