Rosanne den Drijver secured another race victory at Sturup Raceway in Sweden during her third Nordic4 weekend. The 17 year old Captain Cruise driver from the Westland region delivered an outstanding Formula 4 performance on Sunday and held on to the lead after a long and intense battle. She finished fourth in the other two races.

WESTLAND FORMULA 4 DRIVER TURNS SETBACKS INTO VICTORY
The race weekend got off to a difficult start for Rosanne den Drijver. During practice at the technical Sturup Raceway circuit, which consists almost entirely of corners, she struggled with persistent understeer. Her Danish team, STEP Motorsport, spent a long time searching for the cause, which ultimately proved to be a poor set of tyres.
The car still did not feel completely right during qualifying. Despite this, Rosanne set an impressive fifth fastest time. She was competing against two drivers in the new Aquila Formula Nova, a car that had a clear advantage on the twisty circuit due to its wider track and lower weight.
Rosanne made a strong start in the opening race. Starting from the third row of the grid, she moved up to fourth place and held that position until the finish.

FROM FOURTH PLACE TO VICTORY
The second race delivered exactly what Rosanne den Drijver had been hoping for. Starting from fourth position, she had already moved into second place by the third corner. Shortly afterwards, she took the lead and became involved in an exciting battle for victory.
Despite the pressure from a car that was faster through the corners, the Westland driver remained calm and defended flawlessly. After a race filled with attacking and defending, she crossed the finish line in first place.
“On Friday, it felt as though we were constantly on the back foot and nothing was working the way we wanted. That is why it feels even better that we managed to turn the weekend around, even though our pace was still not completely where it needed to be,” Rosanne said enthusiastically.
In addition to her victory in Race 2 and fourth place finishes in Races 1 and 3, Rosanne ended the weekend fourth overall, second in the rookie standings and second in the Formula 4 classification excluding the new Aquila Formula Nova.
With this victory, Rosanne represents not only herself, but also the Westland region. Several regional companies, including Biersteker, Rainbow Growers and ProTech Westland, are supporting her journey towards international motorsport.
The next race will take place from 24 to 26 July at Kinnekulle Ring in Sweden. Rosanne’s journey can be followed on Instagram at RoosRacing1 and at www.roosracing.com.
