BNL race 4
15–16 August 2025
Last weekend, it was already time for the fourth round of the Benelux championship.
This week, we decided to switch to a different chassis because I could not get the Henza chassis fully under control. The change immediately felt positive on Thursday, and I was right on the pace, just three tenths behind the leaders.
Qualifying: I drove a solid lap and finished 11th in my group and P33 out of 76 drivers overall.
Heat 1: P11 to P23 to P15. At the start, I was running around P8, but on the second lap another driver hit me hard and forced me off, causing me to lose many positions. I still managed to recover to P15.
Heat 2: P11 to P9. A solid race with good pace.
Heat 3: P25 to P21. Unfortunately, the starter motor failed before this heat, so my mechanic had to start the kart manually. I was only allowed to begin once everyone had crossed the start and finish line. Despite starting around ten seconds behind, I still managed to overtake several drivers.
Heat 4: P12 to P17. I was forced off again during this heat, and unfortunately I also made a few poor decisions myself. This resulted in P17.
Heat 5: P12 to P6. A really strong heat. I stayed calm, waited for the right moments and eventually finished in sixth place.
A Final: P33 to P24. This was the first time I qualified for the A Final, despite some mechanical problems during the heats. The defending was very aggressive throughout the race, which made overtaking difficult. By staying patient, I crossed the line in P27 and moved up to P24 after several penalties were applied.
This was a fantastic result, especially considering I had only completed one full day of practice on this chassis.
A huge thank you to Sebas for all the work on the kart.
And of course, thank you to all my sponsors for making this possible.🏁🏁
